We had the most amazing morning at our "Frida Kahlo" inspired Ladies Tea.
Friday Kahlo, a Mexican woman who had multiple disabilities, including polio as a child, and spinal and pelvis damage from a car accident, became a world-renowned self portrait painter. She has since served as a role model for generations of artists, people with disabilities and bisexual women.
The ladies came dressed to impress in the Friday Kahlo theme, and we could not stop looking. It was flowers and smiles all around. Our best dressed for the morning was Barbara Visagie.
Rouchelle had the most powerful message that tied in with the theme - don't let anyone ever drink out of your cup. Let them drink out of your saucer. You must always look after yourself. We had goosebumps, and the message really hit home. Her beautiful voice and song brought us all to tears.
Thank you, Rouchelle - we will never be able to forget this message and will carry it with us always.
A special shout out to our Ambassadors for all your support and input, and to Candice for your most amazing photos.
lan, thank you for being our sound guy.
Thank you Merlize for giving our lips extra finesse.
Micia and Patricia - for our keychains, Bianca for the gift bags and magazines. Johan van Zyl from Primi Water for our amazing, branded water bottles.
Thank you to Durbanville Hills for hosting us, and for all our sponsors for the lucky draws - we really appreciate it.
Last but not least - everyone that attended - without your support an event like this will never be successful. Thank you for helping us to create the platform for a more intimate special needs community, so we can support our families.
