Daniel and Friends Fund Project: Haven of Hope Equine Aid Centre
Daniel and Friends Fund decided to adopt the Haven of Hope Equine Aid Centre as a project upon realising that we share a similar goal – helping and making a difference in the lives of children with special needs. Haven of Hope exercises this goal by providing free horseriding therapy to children andadults with special needs which, while being an invaluable service, means that they are completely dependent on donations and sponsorships from which to maintain the Centre, as well as fund necessary improvements.
DFF, together with the much-needed help of volunteers, has been actively involved in the required maintenance and are in the process of upgrading the stables.
Who is Haven of Hope Equine Aid Centre?
Their vision is to create a safe haven, as well as loving and caring environment for the rehabilitation and use of previously abused and/or neglected horses and to allow these horses to play a therapeutic role, under careful supervision, in the holistic development of children/persons with mental, physical or emotional challenges and/or disabilities including previously disadvantaged children and adults.
They offer the opportunity and facilities to, through a series of activities, games and sometimes hardwork, improve:
- Trust and relationship building
- Physical exercise
- Muscle tone, balance & posture
- Mental stimulation and focus Physical and mental achievement
Daniel and Friends Fund and Haven of Hope Equine Aid Centre enjoy working together in a close relationship and will continue to do so in the future.
